It hurts, But I can’t feel anything

We manifest the self in the performance of body and mind to navigate the requirements of our socially constructed environments. We identify this self within systems of language dictated by society. This work questions how visual language operates and in whose interests. This work examines the idea of the authentic self and is grounded in the experiences of an adult diagnosis of ADHD. Symptoms were identified during mental health therapy originating from the tensions between societal and psychological needs.
